Tragedy struck early Sunday morning at Elleven45 Lounge in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood, where a shooting incident claimed the lives of two individuals and left four others wounded, according to authorities.
Atlanta Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at around 2:30 a.m. at the lounge situated on Peachtree Road NW. Upon arrival, officers discovered six victims with gunshot wounds.
Tragically, paramedics pronounced two individuals deceased at the scene, while the remaining four victims were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Among the victims were three men and three women, aged between 20 and 30 years old, as reported by FOX5 Atlanta. The deceased individuals included one man and one woman.
Detectives investigating the incident believe that a physical altercation escalated into gunfire within the premises of the club. The Atlanta Police Department emphasized in a news release that the shooting was not a random act but rather stemmed from a dispute among individuals or parties present at the establishment.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not disclosed any information regarding potential suspects involved in the shooting.
In response to the tragic events, Elleven45 Lounge announced on social media that it would remain closed on Sunday, in collaboration with law enforcement. The club expressed condolences to those affected by the violence and affirmed their commitment to prioritizing the safety and well-being of patrons and staff.
“Our hearts go out to all those impacted, and we extend our deepest sympathies to the individuals and families who have suffered loss and injury,” the club stated.
