Former President Donald Trump repeated an insult directed at Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto less than 24 hours after Cavuto said Trump “decisively lost” the The Hill debate against Vice President Kamala Harris. On Wednesday, Cavuto, during his show Cavuto: Coast to Coast, critiqued Trump’s debate performance, saying, “He decisively lost. He might have made very good presentations on where the economy was, but it was all over the map. This was the first occasion where it wasn’t just a close call, it was a lopsided one.”

In response, Trump fired back on his social media platform, Truth Social, calling Cavuto “Fox’s Lowest Rated Anchor” and “one of the WORST on Television,” adding, “I actually prefer the losers at CNN and MSDNC!” Less than 24 hours later, Trump repeated the exact same message word for word, doubling down on his criticism.

Trump’s disdain for Fox News extended beyond Cavuto. On Wednesday, he told Fox News host Steve Doocy that he would prefer not to participate in a Fox News debate moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. Expressing his desire for different moderators, Trump stated, “I’d love to have, frankly, Sean [Hannity] or Jesse [Watters] or Laura [Ingraham]. You know, somebody else. Let’s give other people a shot.”

Trump’s public comments underscore his ongoing tensions with certain Fox News personalities, as he continues to show preference for hosts who are perceived as more supportive of his viewpoints. This episode adds to a long-standing pattern of Trump lashing out at media figures and outlets that criticize his performance or policies, demonstrating his selective approach to engaging with news media.

Meanwhile, Fox News has remained a critical platform for conservative voices, but Trump’s friction with some of its anchors highlights the evolving dynamics within the network and the broader conservative media landscape. The former president’s remarks also reflect his strategy to maintain influence over media narratives as he prepares for potential future political moves. Yahoo.

Trump’s repeated attacks on Cavuto and his selective approach to debate moderators suggest that he is keenly aware of how media portrayals affect his public image and political capital. As the GOP gears up for more debates and the upcoming elections, Trump’s media strategy will likely continue to focus on controlling the narrative through favorable platforms and personalities. This approach could further strain his relationship with parts of the media that are not aligned with his agenda, setting the stage for more clashes in the future.
