Biden Campaign Releases High-Profile Ad “Snapped” Targeting Trump

Biden Ad “Snapped” Targeting Trump

As Reported by The Guardian, Joe Biden’s re-election campaign has launched a high-profile new video ad titled “Snapped,” targeting Donald Trump as a candidate who will stop at nothing to regain power. The aggressive 30-second spot features the voice of actor Robert De Niro, a longtime critic of the former president, and will be distributed nationally.

Set against a backdrop of dramatic orchestral music and news footage from Trump’s presidency, De Niro’s voiceover begins: “From midnight tweets to drinking bleach, to teargassing citizens and staging a photo-op, we knew Trump was out of control when he was president. And then he lost the 2020 election and snapped.”

The ad includes images of Trump on his phone on Air Force One and at the podium in the White House briefing room during a notorious 2020 press conference where he suggested that injecting disinfectant might combat COVID-19.

Trump is also shown posing with a Bible outside St. John’s Episcopal Church, near the White House, after law enforcement forcibly cleared nearby protests against racial injustice and police brutality following the murder of George Floyd in May 2020. According to CNN

The video then transitions to the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, when extremist supporters of Trump, spurred on by the then-president, stormed the congressional chambers in a failed attempt to stop the certification of Biden’s election victory.

De Niro’s narration continues, asserting that Trump was “desperately trying to hold on to power.” He adds: “Now he’s running again, this time threatening to be a dictator, to terminate the Constitution.”

Footage of Trump warning of a “bloodbath” if he does not win in 2024 is shown, along with images of a mob carrying pro-Trump and election-denying flags clashing with police.

“Trump wants revenge and he’ll stop at nothing to get it,” De Niro’s voiceover warns.

The ad concludes with Biden saying, “I’m Joe Biden and I approve this message,” accompanied by an image of Biden walking towards a doorway and saluting the troops that guard him. told by TNYT

This ad is part of a broader strategy by Biden’s campaign to underscore the perceived dangers of a Trump presidency and to contrast Biden’s leadership style with Trump’s. The campaign aims to remind voters of the tumultuous events of Trump’s time in office and to highlight the stakes of the upcoming election.
