Attorneys for both the prosecution and defense delivered their closing arguments on Tuesday in former President Donald Trump’s historic hush money trial. As reported by Yahoo News, The arguments concluded at 8 p.m. after a grueling 10-hour session where both sides meticulously presented their cases.
Trump’s attorney, Todd Blanche, spent nearly three hours attempting to undermine the prosecution’s case, particularly focusing on the credibility of key witness Michael Cohen.
Following a lunch break, prosecutor Joshua Steinglass presented the prosecution’s closing argument for five hours. Judge Juan Merchan announced that court would resume at 10 a.m. Wednesday for jury instructions before deliberations begin.
Trump faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to hide a $130,000 hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels, aiming to prevent the story from surfacing during his 2016 presidential campaign.
Both sides rested their cases last week after 20 days of testimony, including appearances by Daniels and Cohen. Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer, testified that Trump directed him to pay Daniels for her silence, with the promise of reimbursement. From ABC News
